Holy Crap I forgot I made a blog....

WOW... Fall went Fast! It's already the beginning of December and we have lived in Tehuacana with Chris (finally) for three months now.

Football= fun & time consuming.
Coaches wife= feel important at games in reserved section & good conversational title.
Example "Oh, you're coach McFarlane's wife?.. HIIIII! How do you like Mexia?!?!? "(serious country accent)
Tehuacana= SMALL as #$%* & ridiculously lax on the leash law or managing homeless dog population!

I looked over my last post.... black purse CHECK.... BBQ GRILL .... double check (we used it maybe every other night).... Pool no sense now it's freezing maybe next summer. Blender, maybe for Christmas! Ross, didn't have to worry about going there often. THEY DON'T HAVE ONE ANYWHERE NEAR US!! I'm talking within an hour!

Life in Mexia... The people really are VERY nice. I am quite enjoying the friendly conversations with strangers EVERYWHERE! Cute children are definitely a conversational piece. Surprisingly they have a Brighton store...inside a Merle Norman. It was the first place one of Chris's coworkers suggested I visit! I DID! had to get a football charm for one of my bracelets. and Sassy Sister's is Berkley's favorite place in town. Plenty of things she can get into at that boutique. Other than those places not much else on the shopping front.


The football games really were a blast! Nothing like having your Thursday, Friday and Saturday plans set in stone for three months. Homecoming was fun getting all decked out in the cute Mexia stuff my mom made for the girls! I liked sitting with all the other coaches wives and some of Chris's co-workers at the games in our seats. Football here is QUITE different. Much bigger deal community wide than in Houston. Put it this way even the seventh and eighth grade B TEAMS! get to play on the big varsity field with an announcer and everything. Everyone also GOES to the games.

Life in Tehuacana... Population 307 Let's just say after it lost the vote to Austin for becoming state capital, it went downhill! The homeless dog population, if you hadn't heard me complain about already, is OUT OF CONTROL! We have temporarily been fostering our own "porch dog". Her name is Betsy, per Berkley. I have become part of the Limestone Animal Shelter foster group because they paid to have her checked up, vaccinated, and dewormed. I don't mind feeding her, we had been doing that since she showed up, but I don't want her giving us anything! Otherwise she is really sweet and actually really cute and well behaved. Long story longer... a week before she showed up I had consciously chosen NOT to take in another REALLLLY CUTE homeless dog we found at the park because I didn't want to take on the responsibility again. THEN she shows up... just saying.

We live in a double wide....that I did not see until I navigated ourselves and a giant moving truck through this half non-paved street town. I will say .. I did not know that trailers could be as nice as ours is! seriously. good job trailer manufacturers. Four bedroom, 3 bathroom, living room, giant kitchen, fireplace in the den, big laundry room, giant master bathroom, sweet built in entertainment center!?!?! yea That's what I said. SO, I wont complain about the actual house... just the rampant vagrant dog population, and a Mayor (who WE RENT FROM) that wont do much about it. Did I also mention our last water bill was $200..... and then they said we should watch the back BACK bathroom in the toy room (that we don't even use EVER) because it will leak. They didn't think it was still going to be a problem because our first month was only $40 like normal, so they didn't mention it. It's OK because "they are real understanding at the office. They will let you pay it out." Really because I DON"T THINK IT SHOULD BE OUR PROBLEM!!! Whoa, sorry I forgot I was only going to complain about the dogs.
Let's just say it's a good thing there was no time period on our lease :D


I've taken a liking to BAKING. Specifically cupcakes among other things. Not only did I discover it's fun to make cupcakes from scratch (for Berkley's birthday), when people think they are awesome they will pay you to make them. I'm not paying the car payment with the side job, but hey if it pays for diapers and a couple grocery store runs a month YEAY!

Everyone has pretty much gotten to visit us here. Fun experience for all parties I'm sure! We have celebrated a few birthdays and had Halloween here which were both great. I haven't gotten to entertain here as much as I want, but we have had a couple get togethers, grilled ALLOT! Hopefully we will have more in the future after all the holidays. Social scene will change a bit too. I imagine, since football is over all of us with get to see each other on a less stressful basis. Speaking of which I am looking forward to a coaches holiday party in the next week.

I think that brings everyone current. Three months in one post is too much I wont wait so long to ad another post, for sure!
